I interviewed with Howard Hughes back in July 2018 with their VP and Manager of Corporate Communications for a position involving the newly revitalized Seaport District. Both were extremely nice and asked me questions as to why I wanted to work for the company, examples of projects I owned in my past jobs, etc. I was even taken around on a brief tour of the office (great views!) and left with high hopes. I was contact the next day to come back in the following week and meet with the Chief of Staff. Unfortunately, he seemed to be bothered and rushed the meeting; we only met for five minutes. After a few days, I followed up with the head of the department and received no answer, which continued on for a few weeks until I finally got in contact by phone. She told me they weren't even sure where they were going with the position and didn't have an answer (as a matter of fact this position was posted and take down twice before I applied). Things went silent and the position remained posted, so unsure if it was my qualifications or they were lying, as no feedback was given. The worst part about this was that I saw a similar posting that was listed confidential through a recruiter (this was in September!); turns out it was for the same job. I told them my situation and how I already met the team and didn't hear back, which then everything went silent. This is all unfortunate, unprofessional and frustrating, as I was really inspired by what they did to the Seaport District.
