I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Singapore) in May 2021
Interview
This was my second time interviewing for this role after 1.5 years and contrary to the positive experience I had when I interviewed for the first time, this experience was far from positive.
We set up a phone interview but it was delayed for 2 weeks as she had a personal emergency and had to reschedule, and that's fine, life happens. But after being so excited about the interview and working harder to prepare for it, the recruiter was so unfriendly and stand offish in the call. It was as if she made the early judgement from the get go that I was not a right fit a few minutes into the call before even understanding what changed in terms of my job experiences and skill set as compared to 1.5 years ago.
Very disappointing experience and no feedback was given regarding that interview, just a rejection email from their email templates. Interviews are hard and nerve wrecking, and a bit of human touch and empathy would be great as we are not just qualifications and numbers on paper that they need to vet through.

Question 1
How have you grown from the past feedback given to you in the last interview?
The hiring process consists of an initial HR interview to assess cultural fit, followed by a technical interview to evaluate skills, and concludes with three separate one-on-one interviews with different managers expecting STAR responses.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you had conflict with a coworker or colleague, and how did you overcome it?
It is a 5 step interview process, with the 1st one being a phone screening, then a video call/interactive assignment, and then finally three 30 minute back to back interviews for the 3rd and final round.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot in Apr 2026
Interview
Three rounds:
-Screening with recruiter
-Technical (live troubleshooting with a manager)
-Behavioral (3-30 minute interviews with managers)
The recruiter offers prep sessions before the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Take advantage of them as they’ll explicitly walk you through how to prepare.
