I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Cambridge, MA) in Oct 2021
Interview
Overall, I enjoyed the interview process and had a good time meeting everyone.
I applied to HubSpot online at the end of September. I didn't hear back until 3-4 weeks later, around the middle/end of October. First I had a call with a recruiter. I was asked standard introductory questions like most companies ask, to make sure you're genuinely interested and qualified for the position. I was also asked whether I wanted to work on the Front End or the Back End. I chose the Front End.
After that, I was given a week to do a coding assessment where I had to interact with their API (using json parsing and requests). There was a 3 hour timer I think. I liked that I could use any language I wanted. I heard back 2-3 days later and was told I would be moving to the next round, which would be two technical portions. Since I decided to go for the Front End position, I had a general data structures and algorithms coding round where I could use any language and a JavaScript round. In both rounds, there were two engineers (so four in total) working together to interview me. Both coding rounds included a behavioral part at the end with 'tell me about a time..' engineering oriented questions. Since my interview was scheduled very early in the day, I heard back later the same day and was told I had one final round with the Director of Engineering. That was a behavioral round. I got a phone call from the recruiter the following day and was offered the job!
Overall, I had a great experience. I had an amazing recruiter who was able to work with my timeline since I was actively interviewing with other companies at the time. My recruiter also made sure I was thoroughly prepared for my interviews. She set up a prep call where I could ask specific questions about my technical rounds and gave me an idea of what I could expect in the behavioral rounds.
All the people I spoke with were very kind and genuine. They gave me a good idea of what it might be like working for HubSpot. So, I ended up accepting the offer!

Tell me about a time you failed and what you did afterwards.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at HubSpot (London, England)
Interview
I went through several rounds, including an initial screening, a technical assessment, and follow-up interviews. The process was well structured, but I found the technical part challenging because it required both problem-solving and clear communication under time pressure. The interviewers were professional, and the questions were relevant to the role. Although I did not receive an offer, the experience was still valuable and helped me understand the company’s expectations better.
Coding assessment with multiple levels. levels open up as you pass them. Time constraints looked tight. I could not get through all levels. It was related to Designing banking system.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at HubSpot (Dublin, Dublin)
Interview
Consists of an Online Assessment, followed by 3 rounds (2 System Design, 1 coding)
One of the System Design interviewer was less experienced (with an experienced shadow interviewer). I feel like they didn't drive it correctly, didn't ask me the right follow-up questions and eventually gave negative feedback.
