Interview
The interview process was minimal. I only spoke with the owner, who came across as somewhat off-putting. Despite holding a graduate degree in mathematics, I was told I wouldn’t be moving forward because I “didn’t score high enough” on an ACT-style placement test. This was especially odd, considering I wasn’t given adequate time to prepare, and ACT-style math is a very narrow and specific subset of mathematics that doesn’t reflect broader expertise. The decision was only communicated via text, and only after I followed up a few days later. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and disorganized. I would not recommend working here.

Interview
Five minute conversation via zoom. I clearly had more experience than the person interviewing me. Two days later the interviewer no longer worked with the company. The hours I could work changed from whenever I was available to what they wanted. Felt like a bait and switch.
