I filled out a long application followed by sending a resume, cover letter, and three writing samples. I had to wait for over a month before anyone contacted me, so I was surprised to get an interview. After the interview, I didn't hear anything for another two weeks. The people I met with were nice, but I wish the communication had been stronger before and during the application process. The online application never said to send in a resume or any of the other additional papers. I only found out I had to do that because I got a mass email about the position from my journalism school.
