IHOP Hostess interview questions

took 4 months to get a call back. I got hired the day of the interview because they were looking for summer employees. I got hired the same day of the interview. It was quick and easy. I would not worry too much. They do their hiring mostly before summer begins because of the many tourists that come for vacation.

The interview was very, VERY casual and my interviewer (the owner) was very scatterbrained and unprofessional. When we were setting up the interview over the phone, she was very rushed and distracted and finally at the end of the call she admitted that she was driving while talking to me! It also took about 10-15 minutes to even start the interview when I got there because once we sat down all she would talk about was her missing glasses and other various things that tend to go missing on her. The only positive was that I was never asked any interview questions. She cut straight to the point saying she needed someone to work mainly mornings and wrote down the exact hours that she needed and on which days. I was able to work the hours that she wanted, but she didn't like that I had another job. I explained to her that my other job is extremely flexible and allows me to basically make my own schedule so having two jobs would not be an issue. She said that she didn't want an employee that would be too tired from working two jobs and she had a previous employee who worked for her and my current employer who left IHop due to a promotion and that's why she found it difficult to believe that I wouldn't do the same to her. Oh my goodness. Since I knew this interview was definitely not going to end with giving me an offer I decided to be as honest with her as she was to me and I point blank explained that I needed a certain amount of hours to get money for school and it didn't matter to me if it came from one job or two, so if she has a problem with me working two jobs then I would need to be working full time. After the 'interview' she said she still had to talk to other candidates (mentioned one in particular that she was VERY excited to meet) and only had the option to hire one so she would call if I got the job. I did not.
