I applied and had a few great conversations, though it’s clear the questions were not structured as there was a lot of overlap and I was asked the same thing multiple times. What turned the experience negative was speaking with one of the executives, who was late and didn’t tell me they had a hard stop until a passive aggressive comment at the end - they became very focused on one thing that I had already covered extensively in my prior interviews, so I explained it again. It wasn’t skills related, so I was a bit disappointed that they wanted to dig into an area that was so heavily focused upon already instead asking questions about the value I’d bring to the role. It also became clear then that the executive did not read any of the notes from the past interviews, which is not a good recruiting practice. I hope the HR team can reign in their execs on better interviewing practices.
I knew as we were ending the conversation that I wouldn’t be moving forward based on the executive’s demeanor towards me, but had to follow up to get more information.
