Thank you for your review of Ignition. I would like to acknowledge that your recruitment experience is something we work hard to avoid, although, you did not interview with Ignition. As you mentioned, our role was originally posted to accept candidates based in Toronto in order to service the East Coast and work standard Eastern hours. However, within 24 hours of posting this role, we had some internal changes which resulted in us having to re-calibrate our needs to make the right hire; in turn, the role was amended to service the West Coast, and therefore work Pacific hours. As such, our Talent Acquisition team reached out to those Toronto based candidates who had already applied to the role to verify if this change in working hours and working Pacific hours (11am-7pm ET) would be something each candidate was interested in pursuing, or, if they would like to withdraw their candidacy given the expectation change. I’ve verified that our team contacted you about the change from the original posting, and then did reply to you when you had further questions (although, delayed due to a public holiday) and you did decline to proceed to the interview stages given the hours change. I can appreciate that this may have felt that we were not accurate in our expectations originally, and so sincerely apologize for this confusion, however, we were intentional about reaching out to candidates once the change to the role was determined, and you made a decision not to proceed with Ignition and the interview process. We aim to be very upfront in our job ads, expectations, and recruitment processes, but, there may be times where business needs result in us having to pivot quickly and adjust. We chose to reach out to all applicants given this change in order to be transparent about the updated expectations and only proceed to interview those who were still interested. Further, since the hours change to this role, we have updated the job posting, have confirmed with all candidates that they are comfortable with the working hours prior to proceeding with their application and are only proceeding to interview those that are comfortable working with West Coast hours.
