My application was ignored for more than a month. After I send a follow up email I immediately got an interview. The interviewers asked about my research. Afterwards I started asking questions about the position, in particular about some software that is frequently used. Unfortunately the interviewers didn't seem to understand how it worked at all. This was disappointing as apparently they use it every day. Later I was told I wasn't suitable for the position, but I think they had no intention of hiring me anyway. It seemed like a waste of everyone's time.
