The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at InMobi (Bengaluru) in May 2014
Interview
Applied online via linked-in. They replied back after a month. First scheduled for telephonic interview which they didn't do. Then I called asking for reason they told me they thought of calling me. So they called me for f2f in same week.
HR didn't send the address. I had to search and confirm. Then they didn;t tell which floor in building. I had to look at 3 floor of inmobi asking for reception.
They asked me to come at 1030. they arrived in office late. Interviewer was not informed about interview a day before. So he came late by 1145. I was waiting whole time. HR told me he is stuck in traffic and Interviewer told he didn't know about interview. I was supposed to finish interview and go back to office by 1 but hr mismanaged whole interview and I went back home at 3.
Company has free culture, lots of funky colored walls, good food etc.
Very unprofessional.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
3 rounds:
1st:
a: tell me about your self, projects, skills.
b: dig more in project, What I could have done, what mistakes, what design pattern, etc.
He was very helpful.
2nd
a: find if two string are anagram. He was interested in which lang I used.
b: find palindrome. Gave first O(n2) solution in Python. He was more interested in semicolon i missed while explanation. Didn't get chance to explain other soln asked me next question.
c: letter asked to design web-service to serve some kind of service. Implementation required to key value mapping. value was a list. So if particular key is not present you won;t get any list. He was saying in, dict[key].append(num) when key is not valid will give AttributeError instead of KeyError. I too succumbed in it. I didn't know if he was checking me or he didn't know the correctly.
3rd:
They keep me waiting for next 2 hrs to tell me, next person is busy today. They will call me later.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at InMobi (Bengaluru) in Jun 2021
Interview
Given two rounds of interview but doesn't courtesy to provide feedback with Glance.
1st Round : Algo DS
2nd Round : System design
Interviewers were paid to take interviews. They are not friendly, they kind of don't make you feel valued. I think if it was this way then why have interviewers just go ahead and give more coding tests. Pointless absolutely
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at InMobi (Bengaluru) in Jun 2018
Interview
InMobi raises the bar when it comes to unprofessionalism.
I had a couple of rounds scheduled with InMobi. The interviews were going good and all the rounds ended on a positive note.
After the first few rounds went well, the HR inquired about my expected salary range. On hearing that, she tried to negotiate me down there itself(even before all my rounds were complete).
For my next round, I had a very rude interviewer who didn't accept any solution other than the ones he knew. For every solution I gave, his response was that he knew a much better solution. On asking what the solution was, he responded with "I cannot tell you everything. You can google it". On googling, I couldn't find a better approach, even on geeksforgeeks.org.
Either he was an exceptional topcoder, or he was just bluffing.
After this round, I had another round scheduled. No one called me during the scheduled time. I tried contacting the HR, but it seemed like she had blocked my number. My entire day got wasted because of this.
If you don't want to continue the interview process with the candidate, at least have the courtesy to inform the candidate. Don't waste their time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions about past work, technologies used and easy algorithmic problems.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at InMobi (Bengaluru) in Oct 2017
Interview
I arrived early for the interview and it started in time.
The interviewer was least interested in taking the interview and just saying ok ok to all my solutions and asking next questions.
So I thought the interview went fine.
After repeated mails to the HR, I got a call one fine day saying that they won't be proceeding with my candidature.
That was some waste of time.
I won't recommend this place.
