One of the most unprofessional and disorganized interview experiences I’ve had.
The assignment described a media buying platform, but the panel evaluated me on an entirely different product with no explanation. They introduced internal frameworks (like “Pilot ICP” and “Strategic ICP”) with zero context — frameworks that don’t exist anywhere publicly. It felt like a trap, not an interview.
Basic, fair questions like “What are the expectations from this role?” were met with irritation and vague responses. There was no clarity on product direction, no alignment on competitors, and no shared understanding of the market. To make matters worse, future rounds were abruptly cancelled without reason.
The most concerning part? The current “product marketing” team is being run by people who’ve never actually worked as PMMs.
That translated to the lack of structure, strategic depth, and respect for the craft. It was obvious they were looking for someone to validate ideas, not challenge them or build anything meaningful.
Such a shame that renowned companies like inMobi resorted to unethical practices like bait-and-switch. If you're a serious candidate, do not waste your time unless they give you a clear brief.
