Interview
A general HR interview is followed by one or more interviews with managers from the individual departments. The HR interview is kept very general with focus on the CV and the qualifications and/or certifications received. The interview(s) with the manager(s) is(are) more focused on technical aspects and job relevant experience gained before. These interviews are then followed by an internal discussion/alignment between the manager(s) and the HR on the most appropriate position. Depending on its outcome an offer is made from the HR. At this point one should negotiate the salary and an optional sign-on bonus. The whole procedure takes usually less than one week.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The HR questions are basically the same as anywhere else, such as "What would you bring into the company?". For personality assessment one is typically asked to tell briefly about one's last holiday. In the general part of the technical interview one has to estimate the typical cycle time of and the number of processes required for a manufactured chip. The technical part comprises one or two technology relevant questions. These are, however, rather straight and easy to answer.
The interview started with a friendly introduction by the hiring manager and process engineers. They explained Infineon’s role in the semiconductor industry, especially in power devices and automotive applications, which helped set a professional and comfortable tone.
No technical questions were asked. All behavioural questions and easily could answer all these questions without much thoughts. And the HR was very polite and easy to be communicated with
