I don’t usually post such things, but I feel this needs to be said.
The recent Infosys hiring process has been disappointing for many candidates, including myself. After going through multiple rounds — initial technical, F2F interviews lasting an entire day, HR discussions, and even a final online technical round — I was told I cleared everything.
However, I was later informed that the company couldn’t offer me the position because “the salary hike would not be good for me.” If budget constraints were known from the start, it would have saved everyone time and energy to clarify this earlier.
It’s disheartening to see hundreds of candidates interviewed every week under such conditions — spending their weekends or entire workdays, traveling, preparing, and stressing — only to be rejected for reasons unrelated to merit or performance.
Companies, especially large ones, should remember that transparency and respect in the hiring process go a long way. Candidates deserve clarity and honest communication.
