I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Infosys in Jun 2009
Interview
Infosys conducted an On-campus drive and approximately 130 students were selected from our batch.
We had been given a training on what might be asked by Infosys Recruitment team and were more or less prepared to have an entire day spent on this.
Infosys selection criteria is based on a written test at first and a personal interview of those selected in the written exam.
The written exam was easy consisting of simple logic/analytical/grammer questions. Cheating is strictly prohibited during the exam and those caught in the act were immediately disqualified.
Results were declared after 3-4 hours and around 170 students were selected for personal interview.
Personal interview was the next day and it took up the entire day. Each candidate was interviewed for approximately half an hour. The questions were mostly general and judged the communications skill of the student. Some interviewers asked technical questions but majority were asked logical questions or puzzles.
An e.g. - if you have an empty plastic water bottle like a Bisleri bottle, how can it be used, other than filling it with water.
The results of the interview were declared an hour after the last interview.

Interview
Following the assessment test, got shortlisted for the interview phase. The session itself was very smooth; the interviewer created a supportive and comfortable environment right from the beginning. The conversation centered around my project, where I had the opportunity to detail its technical aspects, architectural choices, and the underlying motivation for building it.
Multiple rounds including face to face and aptitude depending on the role type and resume and project related questions were asked with focus on technical concepts including data structures and algorithms
The recruitment process started with an online assessment that included aptitude, reasoning, verbal ability, and programming questions. Candidates who cleared the assessment were invited for a technical and HR interview. The interview lasted around 30 minutes and focused on Java fundamentals, projects mentioned in the resume, OOP concepts, certifications, and basic HR questions. The interviewers were friendly and gave sufficient time to answer.
