I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Infosys (Thiruvananthapuram) in Jul 2008
Interview
It was an oncampus interview. In the morning, there was a written test which tests your analytical and reasoning, aptitude, etc. Within few hours, the results were announced and people who cleared moved on to the final HR interview which started immediately. HR interview should be a cake walk. They basically test if you are interested to work and how capable are you to learn as they will anyway train you vigorously at Mysore Development Center. Finally, results were announced on the same day (midnight though). The HR people were very good and talk very softly to make the candidate comfortable.

Interview
Following the assessment test, got shortlisted for the interview phase. The session itself was very smooth; the interviewer created a supportive and comfortable environment right from the beginning. The conversation centered around my project, where I had the opportunity to detail its technical aspects, architectural choices, and the underlying motivation for building it.
Multiple rounds including face to face and aptitude depending on the role type and resume and project related questions were asked with focus on technical concepts including data structures and algorithms
The recruitment process started with an online assessment that included aptitude, reasoning, verbal ability, and programming questions. Candidates who cleared the assessment were invited for a technical and HR interview. The interview lasted around 30 minutes and focused on Java fundamentals, projects mentioned in the resume, OOP concepts, certifications, and basic HR questions. The interviewers were friendly and gave sufficient time to answer.
