I received HR follow up 1 week or 2 after the submission of application. Get a 15 min take home SQL test after speaking with HR, passed that and got a invitation to interview with Hiring Manager (30min) and live SQL test(30 min). Received rejection email the same day of interview. The result of interview with Hiring Manger was expected because we didn’t have a pleasant conversation. First of all, he didn’t introduce anything about himself or the position. He asked a bunch of ambiguous questions and after I answered them in details, he didn’t give any feedback or even had any reaction. Just jumped right to the next topic. Looks like he was not interested in knowing more about my experience or wanted to know me as a person. Secondly, I had a SQL live coding interview right after speaking with him, yet, he took a quite amount of time asking left join function. It’s hard to talk about coding via only a phone call. I doubt that he came up with those questions while we speak. Lastly, he asked about if I have any questions for him, he sounds very impatient and answered my questions very generally. The SQL live test went well on the other hand, I walked through the interviewer my thought while writing up the code. I solved the task and the interviewer was very supportive and attentive throughout the process. I received good feedback from her but I guess she was not the one to make the decision that not to move the process forward.
