      Developer Interview

      Nov 12, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Instrument

      Interview

A hiring manager at Instrument reached out to me over LinkedIn. From there she set up an in person interview with one of the partners where we spoke a bunch about upcoming projects at instrument, why they were looking for a unity developer, and my background in Unity. After that first interview I was asked to have a second one with the greater team I would be joining. It was a set of back to back interviews one with the art director and product manager on the team and the second with the technical director and executive director. Everyone on the team was super easy to talk to and the conversation flowed pretty naturally between the work I've done and the project they were working on that i'd be jumping into. I was pretty wiped out by the end of the second set of interviews but felt they went as well as they could have.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Instrument

      Interview

I was referred by one of their recruiters who reached out on linkedin saying there was a position that fit my role. After the first interview, the next one was scheduled with a different role posted which caused some confusion but was said to not be a problem and led to a different technical test. The interviewer was with a director who seemed like he was last second thrown in. This then had a post technical review interview with two following up that included a group and a one on one. Each time with schedule cancel and reschedules that took a week per to hear back from. Didn't think this was an issue or a race since of the amount of rounds. This then led to another technical test to reassess which required another group interview to post assess. Overall would say this took 3 months long which I again thought was fine because of how many rounds I assume everyone is also going through. Was told from the recruitment staff that they are having scheduling issues and cancel/reschedule because of that which I again excused and was alright with. Towards the end with my last interview scheduled coming up, it gets canceled with an email saying the position has been filled. This meant that the process is over even before hearing and reviewing with the second technical interview. Glad to not really have a chance?
