I met the intern recruiter at my university at many on-campus events and she referred me to the IRISE program, which is specifically for undergraduate students. I talked to the manager of that program by phone a few times (non-technical) and he set up a technical phone interview with me. That went well and they set me up with a team; the manager of that team got in touch with me, and I accepted the position.
