I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Intel Corporation (Hillsboro, OR) in Jan 2022
Interview
Hiring manager directly called my cell number without any prior notice, and asked if we can talk. I asked if we can talk some other time since I was in office. Then we fixed a time to talk sometime on the next day. Next day, he never called. After a week, he called again and asked if this is a good time to talk. It was about 40 minutes phone interview. Then I was scheduled for panel interview. During panel interview they focused on their needs instead of how they can utilize my skill and expertise. I have the skills required according job advertisement but at a different settings. You knew about that during the phone interview. Why are you inviting people to a hours long interview while you decides to focus on your tech and your needs instead of discussing how you can use my skills at your settings. Don’t take people to panel interview if you are looking for an expert specific to your field or your lab settings. Frustrated and surprised about hiring manager’s approach with the phone interview. No HR involvement whatsoever throughout the whole process. It was ridiculous! After the interview, I made my mind not to work with that group even if I was offered the job.
