Like many others, this was a strange process. I applied via LinkedIn for a Lead React UI Developer remote job. Two months later, I got an email out of the blue from Syed Shabaz about a UI Practice Lead {React} position. The email made no acknowledgement of my applying for a job or why he was emailing me in general. It was short and felt spammy. Shortly after the email, Syed Shabaz added me on LinkedIn. Then he called me to set up a 15-minute call to have the first interview. We set up some time later in the day, and he said he'd be recording it and then sending it to his supervisors, and they'd make decisions on next steps. He asked me if I got the job description and if I understood the job description, then asked me if I could do the things in the job description, and that was it. Nothing about the company, or their processes, or anything. I've talked to a lot of recruiters, and those conversations were never like this. A few hours later I was contacted to set up the GQ test. He set up a 1-hour meeting for the 2-hour test. When it came time to take the test, he didn't send me the link to complete it, so I had no way to take the test. When he called to see where I was, I decided to just pause on this, as everything about the process up until this point has felt very spammy. I have to go with my gut and quit while I'm ahead. Looking at what others have said here, I feel like I'm making the right decision.
