I applied through my school's career site. Within a few weeks, I was contacted for a phone interview with an HR person. It was mostly an informational session about the position with basic questions asked (how familiar are you with such-and-such software, are you still interested, do you have any questions...). I was given a case to do, which was to write a collections letter and calculate an amount, to be turned in within 24 hours. The HR individual submitted the case to the accounting department and I got a second call within a few days to schedule another phone interview. The second phone interview was with someone in the department. They asked to verify the information they received from the HR individual and then informed me that HR had the wrong information about the position I applied for, so it was like another informational session with standard technical interview questions. I was still interested. The individual said they would contact me at the end of the week, but in evening they called back and said they decided to extend the internship offer to me. Overall, the experience was confusing.
