I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Intertek (Edinburgh, Scotland) in Jan 2014
Interview
Fairly relaxed, near informal interview style, asking questions about ability to fix equipment. The interviewers were middle management asking questions to attempt to determine personal attitude to work especially working non-sociable hours and also trying to determine ability to problem solve. There was no aptitude testing, instead a walking tour of the laboratory was undertaken and questions about various instrumentation was asked, where the interview was trying to understand if I was capable of working alone with these instuments, based on my previous experience.

Question 1
What sports did you play at school and why do you not take part in them any longer?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Intertek (Manchester, England) in May 2025
Interview
Quick teams call, then an onsite interview. No proper structure. Ask some technical and behavioural questions. Two interviewers. No tests, just basic questions. Easy to answer. Declined the offer, as the salary seemed low.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Intertek (Manchester, England) in Jun 2019
Interview
Skype interview of 15min with questions on my background and competencies. The main issue was if I could start earlier or not which was not possible given that I was doing an internship at that time.
