The interview process was fairly straight forward and the recruiter was pleasant and informative. The breakdown came when I was scheduled to meet with the hiring manager. The interview was to take place early the week following the first phone interview. The hiring manager blew off the meeting and did not show up. Not until I reached out to the recruiter was I told that the hiring manager missed the interview and apologized. People get busy and stuff happens but I was concerned that it was flat out missed and I had to reach out to reschedule. I was able to get rescheduled for the end of the same week. However, when the time came, the same hiring manager showed up 10 minutes late to our video interview, mere moments before I had given up. Needless to say, I was a bit flustered and not inspired to be my best. And to top everything off, we closed the interview with the hiring manager telling me it could be 1-2 weeks before hearing back because she was going to be screening people from her own network for the role. At that point, I had lost any remaining hope. Mailchimp seems like a great place to work and I wish them luck. I would be mindful of these recruiting practices if you want to attract good talent.
