Intuit interview questions

My phone screen and on-site were fine. Phone screen involved a coding component and describing my current work. The on-site interview was three components. First involved an on-site data challenge, where they set you up on a laptop and kaggle screen, and you are asked to explore a dataset, develop a model (time permitting), and draw insights. That's followed by a lunch break, after which, they ask you to present a pre-prepared slide deck (based on prior experience), and the Intuit data challenge. Finally, that's followed by around 3-4 one-on-one interviews. My entire experience during phone screen and on-site interviews was very positive. The interviewers were very nice, and I enjoyed the process. What followed afterwards really turned me off the company. I was called the day after my on-site interview by the recruiter, and he said that the feedback from the panel was positive., and they could make an offer. However, they recommended me for one level lower, that is for a Senior Data Science role (I had interviewed for a Staff Data Scientist role). Okay, I can stomach that, but then he said that I would need to do another phone interview. That came after a couple of weeks with some non-technical person in the HR vertical. That interview was a sham, with no probe into my technical skills beyond my on-site interview. After that, the recruiter called me and said that they still want to make an offer, but they don't have any suitable openings at that time. The recruiter never called me after that, even though I followed up a few times within the next month. Fast-forward a few months, and another recruiter reaches out on LinkedIn regarding some open roles, saying that their VP is looking to hire aggressively. I didn't tell this recruiter anything about my prior experience, and set up a call. By the time we speak, the recruiter had figured out that experience, and gave the same spiel, that they will look for a suitable fit and get back to me. The whole process after my on-site interview was really off-putting. Just getting declined would have been way better than what I had to put up with.
