Waited a week, followed up with hiring manager with no response. Waited another week and a half before contacting HR to follow up with no response. 3 weeks later, and coincidentally, the day I submitted reimbursement request for expenses incurred while traveling for interview, I finally received notice they had gone with another candidate. For a company that harps on service and differentiating oneself from competition, I found this to be extremely unprofessional. I understand going with another candidate if they were a better fit for the opportunity, so no bitterness here. The common decency to communicate is what’s lacking... if there’s one thing I would recommend moving forward to Invitae, it would be to slow down. Don’t get so wrapped up in growth and take a step back to square one. The “golden rule” treat others as you want to be treated. Quite frankly, with the lack of communication and respect during the interview process, this not a company I would want to work for. I wish Invitae the best, and hope moving forward they will treat other candidates in a more professional manner.
