The phone screen was clearly typical: tell the recruiter about yourself what you've done etc etc. They tell you a little bit about the company and the process. Everything at this stage was fairly typical and not too surprising. The very next step is a coding challenge via hacker rank. The challenge is timed at 1 hour. * The instructions are incomplete, the second question was missing a case that if you fail to catch on your own will cause you to miss at least four unit tests. * None of the unit tests are visible and they expect you to be able to write your own in an hour. Good luck. * They do not provide you any feedback as to what you did right and what you did wrong. Personally, I was able to get it working with 8 out of 15 unit test passing. But, there was no feedback given to me other than the generic canned response that they are not moving on with me, so, I don't know what the threshold is, if I met it and they just didn't like my implementation, if they expected 100%? 80%? I can't say. I had to email them back to even figure out whether or not the process was moving forward or not, keeping me in suspense for over 5 days. Overall, I'm fairly disappointed in the experience as I was really excited for the company and the potential to use my skills for the greater good. But, on the other hand, if this is what they're selecting for, then I'm happy to be passed over.
