      Sales Associate Interview

      Sep 19, 2010
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at JCPenney in Sep 2010

      Interview

I applied and got a call back a week later for an interview. I did the first interview and the HR rep told me a manager would call me if they found a match for me. A week later another HR rep called me in for another interview that was later on in the week, it was the same rep from the first interview asking me the same questions from the first time, such as situational questions and my availability. This time i spoke with a recruiting manager who asked me more questions, like how i would advertise a product and then told me about the store i was applying for and the position she was in and the position she was trying to fill. After i told her about myself and my last job, she offered me a position and a starting wage, pending on completion of the background check. I accepted =]. The key to this interview was to remain positive and not to let any negatives show about you. The store is customer service related and you have to show that you remain calm under pressure and can sell a product. Positive answers lead to positive outcomes.
