Interview
I applied to JCP online on a Thursday and was called for an interview on that Saturday. The interview was set up for Wednesday and I was told that several other people would be interviewing that same day. I arrived to the interview 15 minutes early and checked in at the customer service desk (the employees were extremely friendly). I then was met by a department manager and taken to her office for the interview. She asked me to tell her a little about myself and my retail experience. She then asked me about my flexibility in schedule and that the more flexible you are, the more hours you'll receive. Then she proceeded to tell me a little about the company and how the hiring process would go if I was offered a job. After interviewing with her I was told that I had a second interview with the store manager in 20 minutes. I met with the store manager and he was very nice. He told me more about the company and asked me 2 questions: what was my definition of customer service and what were my long term goals? I was told by the store manager that if they decided to hire me that I would be contacted within the next week or so. I left the interview and went home and I was home for about an hour and a half before I received a phone call from the department manager formally offering me a job. Guess I made a good impression!
It was overall easy. I was contacted over the phone to set up the interview. It was informal and relaxed. Hiring manager went over some standard questions. Discussed availability, salary
was simple and quick, not many questions were asked, it was a group interview where we helped each other builds blocks and keep it from falling down. The manager was watching us use teamwork together to understand if we all fit into their team environment.

Interview
Very easy and simple. Just answer questions with common sense. They ask several “what would you do in this situation” questions and they are pretty straightforward. Not hard at all.
