      Flight Attendant Interview

      Jul 8, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at JSX in Jun 2023

      Interview

BUCKLE UP, ITS GONNA BE BUMPY AND I HAVE HOT TEA, SIS! I have been a flight attendant for a MAJOR airline for the last 5 years. I wanted to be closer to home. So, I applied for JSX. After submitting my application/resume. I immediately got a behavioral questionnaire. I completed it same day and sent it back. Within 3 days I received an email saying that I made it to the F2F interview, although the letter was vague about location of the interview there was no mistake that it was an actual invite, and they asked that I RSVP. Within the 'RSVP' they had a few more questions. I disclosed a DWI on my record. from 2015 before I became a flight attendant, I am not under any travel restrictions not even a restriction into Canada as I have gone through their required process to be reestablished and allowed to enter the country. It was required that I answered it now rather than later advising that if I didn't, I would not be eligible for hire. So of course, I answered honestly and didn't think much of it since I've literally been in this profession for 5 yrs. and have no travel restrictions. Other questions in the RSVP were questions like what is your height? It also asked about grooming policy and tattoos. All the expected things. Well of course, I met all of those requirements I submitted my RSVP. Within the invite they advised the interview would take place on July 6th. Meaning at the time, that would have been 3 weeks until the interview. After the RSVP was submitted it said that I'll receive the location of the interview 2 days prior to the interview! So, what did I Immediately start doing? Preparing!! Lots and lots of hours of research on the company, read interview reviews. Started planning out some scenario-based questions and the obvious, trying to figure out what to wear. These types of interviews are not the kind you put on a back burner until the day before. They know that right? Anyway, I also wanted to get a hotel closer to the interview site since it's an hour drive for me. Remember up top when I mentioned that they will disclose the details of the interview location 2 days prior that would have been July 4th a national holiday and when I didn't receive an email from them, I thought well I'll email in the morning. I advised in the email that I have an interview the following day and needed the interview location information so I could plan for a hotel that was nearby to prevent any delays upon arrival since, I am unfamiliar with the area. A few hours later the recruiter responds and advises they never received my RSVP and ask that I fill out the RSVP again and return it. He attaches a new link. Whew!! Right?? Well, that's why I didn't receive an email the day before and man, was I so happy that I reached out because how awful would have been to miss out on something I have been preparing and planning for, for 3 weeks!! So, within minutes I filled out the RSVP again and sent an email back letting garret know I completed it! It wasn't long after the recruiter got back with me to let me know the reason that they didn't receive my RSVP is because it Immediately DENIED me because of what I disclosed on my background! I felt like my time was wasted. There was no indicator of any kind that discloses you will be denied employment with JSX if you have a DWI. I am not upset that this is their policy, I completely understand and respect it. However, why didn't they start with that? They have presets on their RSVP that immediately denies certain selections and the moment, I hit yes, their google form chunked my RSVP it's one less resume that the recruiters have to filter out and whilst that is fabulous for them. What about the applicant's time? So, I'm writing this review in hopes that it will help someone out and save their time! JSX should consider disclosing more about their requirements in the job description. One last kicker, I get an automated email a day AFTER the interview that I was invited to then also unknowingly uninvited to advising that they went with a different candidate and wished me luck! Really?? JSX come on! So, if I didn't reach out about the location of the interview, I would have never known the real reason I was denied. Is it that hard to set an automated email thanks, but no thanks the moment their google form automictically denied me. Read other reviews here on glassdoor from other flight attendants it put an uneasy feeling within me, but I thought "well they were just unhappy people wanting to complain." After this experience it aligned with the complaints about JSX not caring about their employees. This has been by far one of the most unprofessional applications processes in the industry!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Not sure but other reviews I've read say basically if you have a heartbeat and no DWI you are who they are looking for, so the questions are not in depth.
