I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Jane Street (Hong Kong) in Jun 2016
Interview
Hour long phone interview with one question. Interviewer was extremely nice and really relaxed me throughout the interview. Heard that they wanted me to go to the final round in Hong Kong the following week. Final round was quite arduous 4 hours long with 3 separate interviews. They do everything they can to make sure you're comfortable on the trip, but I slept for 2 hours the night before.
Other Software Engineer Interview Reviews for Jane Street
The process started with an initial virtual round, followed by an onsite interview. It included a mix of system design and coding problems focused on real-world system applications. Unfortunately, I didn’t perform well in the onsite, which was the most critical stage.
It was a very quick and painless process. Recruiter very responsive, kind interviewers. High implementation and difficult problems, so failed onsite after 3 interviews and a Question and Answer Session.
Did not pass the initial coding round. I tried to explain my thought in details to the interviewer but failed to translate my thought into code. So far interviewer is very nice.
