Had a Web teleconferencing interview and received glowing feedback. I was then asked within a few days to meet for an in person interview in their Wayne, PA office. No mileage reimbursement or travel allowance was offered. I decided that I would still go because the first interview went so well. I met with three people, all of which were white males. Despite all of this, I thought that because of my extensive experience, meeting all of the written qualifications for the job, and wonderful first round interview it would be a done deal. I was told that they had another kind of person in mind and that I was too junior - despite meeting all qualifications on the job description and previously holding a similar role. The feedback from the second interview was total opposite from the first interview despite my consistent answers and representations. The whole experience reeks of discrimination and bias - they were looking for a “local” person and I didn’t fit into what they had in mind. Surprised to have this kind of experience applying for a legal role - but I knew something was up when there was no diversity in the interviewing panel.
