Interview
I put in an application for Journey's in Pooler, GA online and received a phone call asking me to come to an interview. I arrived on time, and was then told that it was a group interview. I was the last of the applicants to arrive, and we all sat in awkward silence for fifteen minutes waiting for the manager to arrive. When she arrived, the sales associate at the counter said that we had been quiet for the last fifteen minutes. The manager then chastised us for being quiet, yelling that we were "applying for a job in *customer service!*" and actually raised her voice at us. She later informed us that she likes to surprise people with group interviews to see how they would react. I'm guessing that's a lot of the reason why she was 15 minutes late to her own interview. The manager concluded the interview, stating she would call us "even if you didn't get the job." Needless to say, I did not receive.
I think it was extremely rude and unprofessional of this manager to "surprise" us with a group interview. I am an introvert and like to have a reasonable expectation when going into new things such as an interview so I know how to act. I imagine this would not have gone smoothly for non-neurotypical people either. Management should provide candidates with an honest overview of how their interview will work.
It includes an interview with one of their managers with behavioral and experience based interview questions. They may ask for a phone screening with a manager as well. The whole process shouldn't take more than a few weeks.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They ask about availability throughout the week and on weekends.

Interview
It was quick and easy. Applied and got a call back 2 days later asking me why I wanted to work there and my availability. Then set up an in person interview which took around 10 minutes.
Quick 30 minute conversation. Pretty straightforward. As long as you seem like you can talk to people and are responsible you’ll be fine. Since it’s entry level they didn’t ask too much about past work experience.
