I was contacted by a recruiter for an Operations role and moved through several rounds of interviews. After an initial screening, I spoke with the hiring director, followed by a panel interview consisting of four 30-minute interviews and a final 15-minute check-in with the director. Throughout the process, I was told I was a top candidate.
After informing the recruiter that I had received another offer, he called me to express that Capital Rx was still very interested and asked me to follow up if I didn’t hear back by a specific date. I followed up twice over the course of two weeks and received no response.
Eventually, I was told that the company had decided to restructure the role and take it in a different direction — but I was never informed of this until I reached out multiple times. While I understand priorities can shift and roles can evolve, it is disappointing and unprofessional to leave a candidate in the dark after investing significant time and energy in the process.
Candidates deserve transparency and communication, even — and especially — when the outcome is a "no."
