Customer Focused Technical Support Manager Interview

      Jul 2, 2013
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Herndon, VA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Juniper Networks (Herndon, VA)

      Interview

Was initially contacted by a Juniper recruiter. Spent 30+ minutes with him in a phone screen. Was set up a few days later with a phone interview with hiring manager which lasted for over a hour. The following week, was set up with an in-person interview and met with 2 managers and a lead. Each interviewed me individually, and the entire in-person process lasted over 3 hours. Finally, was set up with another phone interview with another manager 2 days later, which lasted over an hour.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I was repeatedly asked technical questions despite the job not requiring me to be technical. The managers clearly doubted my ability to do the job solely because I was not technical, despite having experience in managing technical staff before. Had I known they really wanted an engineer, I would not have wasted 5 hours of my time.
