The interview process with K12 is good. It is done in a Blackboard Connect classroom and is thorough. However, once you have interviewed with real people, mine was my principals, you get thrown into the HR system. Principals are not allowed to discuss any personnel matters with their potential employees. They cannot discuss, pay, hours, benefits, etc. Once in the hands of HR you are a number. My offer was over the phone with absolutely no details about the job. I had to ask what the pay was. That should have been the big red flag to run away! I was so excited about the opportunity for students, that I failed to look out for my own well being. It also took HR about 3 weeks to approve the principals choice to hire me. This left me resigning from my previous school just 2 weeks before school started. That was a difficult decision because I liked my school and felt bad leaving them with such short notice.
