2 phone interviews. One screening interview and another with principal and staff member. They didn't ask any questions about teaching. Interviewer talked about himself and made jokes about how easy being an online teacher is.

Question 1
No difficult questions. I was surprised that I wasn't asked any questions about teaching or if I had any ability with technology. In looking back, I think they were just desperate to hire someone. After I was hired I learned that there's a very high teacher turnover rate.
After applying online, I received an invitation to the first interview. During the first round, you record yourself answering questions and write a few responses. It's definitely a different experience than face to face interviews but you have the opportunity to re-record your answer. After this, I was invited to record a 20-30 minute demo lesson. I was allowed to choose the topic and grade level. You teach the lesson on Blackboard. If you do not have an easy time with technology or do not enjoy teaching with technology, you probably won't enjoy this process. After I recorded my lesson, I had to self assess myself with a rubric. My 3rd and final round interview was with the principal of the virtual school.

The initial interview consists of a virtual interview in which you answer a series of questions via webcam. You're allowed at least 3 attempts to submit the recording you like the best. Thereafter, a recruiter with get in contact with you for another interview either face to face, via phone, or via live feed.

Phone interview with two administrators. There was a set of pre-made interview questions. THe questions were very straight forward. Why do you want to be an online teacher? Are you comfortable with technology?
