I applied online. I interviewed at KITSCH (New York, NY) in Mar 2024
Interview
The interview went well and they sent me an offer letter. I was so happy... until I read the offer letter and terms of work. They were so BAD, I had to reject the offer. Here are the reasons:
1. They provide 6 days of PTO for a calendar year (that too... after 3 months of satisfactory service). This was very frustrating for me. Who can work happily with such a low PTO amount?
2. The pay isn't as competitive as they make it sound... and expect you to work 10 hours a day. They should match their pay to the work level they ask for.
3. The worst is the termination of work. They'll terminate your work agreement at anytime, with or without cause, with or without notice. That made me feel so insecure and uncared for. Who does that? Not expected that to come from such an established company that talks about "workplace empowerment" and all that crap.
4. Last but not the least... they expect you to install hubstaff in your laptop to monitor your productivity. I don't have much problem with it, but I don't like the idea of getting tracked! Why can't they work based on KPIs?
The offer letter made it clear that this company doesn't really care about its employees.... even though it's established and making 8-9 figures. I'm not sure what's stopping them. But definitely don't recommend any one to work here. If you have a better offer, go ahead with it.
