The whole interview procedure firstly started well and then showed a mess in organization and management in recruitment.
I was first examined with an online test, then followed with the first face-to-face interview which was mostly about my personality and my fit in organization. And the recruiter gave me a positive valuation.
The second interview was disappointing. The process was seemingly in an easy atmosphere, but the questions two recruiters asked was repetitive and pointless. I was supposed to encounter technical questions, as was instructed by my interviewer in the first interview. However, the second interview was full of non job-related questions again and again, such as what was your experience when you were first in the Netherlands, with almost no discussion regarding audit and assurance field. I wondered if the recruiters had got fully prepared about my interview.
What made me confused was one question recruiters cared about. As I was a KPMG potential employee, why did you frequently mention whether I was fit in local culture?
First, no matter what I answered, it was really not convincing in such context of only oral presentation, although I had already proved myself in one year education and life, and made friends with the local.
Second, I welcomed such questions, but no a repetitive one featuring no orientation, especially it occurred in the second job interview, which I was clearly instructed about technical problems by recruitment department.
Third, is it more sensible to evaluate whether I was fit in KPMG culture? Not to mention the recruiter told me I was going to get along with colleagues with different cultural background. This really made me skeptical about the the scope of KPMG as an international firm as well as the professionalism and interview preparation of these recruiters.
