I had two interviews, one positive and one negative. The first lasted about half an hour with an interviewer who seemed very irritated and impatient from the moment I walked in. I understand that he might have been having a bad day, yet this is not an excuse for how this interview went. He was TEXTING the first few minutes and was very condescending for the rest of the interview. The interviewer admitted he did not look at my resume because he was late, and he kept interrupting while showing he was really unhappy with my answers. He even ridiculed my gestures as I described a big project I worked on (intentionally exaggerating the same hand gesture when interrupting). Also, he kept questioning whether or not I will be enrolled in the accelerated master's program. He looked confused/unconvinced when I said I will be since I have a high GPA (as shown on my resume/transcript) and meet all other requirements. Throughout the interview, he would show signs of obvious disapproval while I continued to act in a professional and polite manner. I did not appreciate that at all. The second interview went much better; the interviewer was beyond genuine and respectful. Also, the managers and staff I met in the waiting room were super friendly! I rated this as a negative interview experience, however, because the amount unprofessionalism and disrespect the first interviewer exhibited was unacceptable. In addition, no rejection email was sent although they said they will contact me in 2-3 weeks. Needless to say, my follow up email was ignored.
