I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Ken Garff Automotive Group (Houston, TX) in Feb 2014
Interview
I was contacted by the company's used car director via cell phone to come in for an in person interview. To my surprise there were two different managers that spoke to me but both were friendly and made the interview process easy. After the interview they contacted me with an offer letter and the instructions for a pre-employment drug screening if I accepted.

Question 1
What makes you want to do car sales? What skills/experience do you have that are relevant to this industry? Can you handle customer disputes and tolerate stress?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Ken Garff Automotive Group (Orem, UT) in Nov 2015
Interview
It was short and painless. Probably took 5 minutes or less. Sales at a dealership is very demanding and the turn over rate is high; they will hire almost anyone who can work full time.
As this employer changed ownership to Garff, initial interviews were not given to employees already employed by the selling firm. So, these employees were simply given a choice to either accept a job position with Garff or to terminate their employment altogether. Most chose to stay on, others chose not too. Many took jobs with other car dealerships in the area.

Question 1
Not a question, per say, but definitely unexpected: Prior to signing on for a new, commission-only position, no pay structure was disclosed.
