I had a friend who had worked for Kiewit before who got me the job. I talked at the career fair with someone who seemed interested til I said I was interested in design which apparently was the wrong answer. Once I explained on a phone call that I was interested in other parts of construction he said he had a place for me and it was as simple as that. I had applied online before, but I'm pretty sure was rejected. So many easier to get through a career fair or friend.

Easy phone call, it was a basic screening interview with behavioural questions and some situational (what would you do?) type. You can find the questions online so it’s easy to prepare
It was conducted over video, but only I had my video on and nobody else did, which was unnerving. Otherwise, STAR format, very simple questions. They all seemed professional and kind.

The interviewer was easy to talk to but called a few minutes late. Most questions were behavioural or more information about work status and availability. The interviewer also used the extra time to go over some questions I had about the position.
