Interview
I was initially excited about the opportunity at Kikoff because of the product’s potential impact in the financial wellness space. Unfortunately, the interview process felt extremely disorganized. There was no phone screening (they mentioned most candidates pass that anyway, which seemed unusual), and I was moved directly to a practical exercise. It seemed the original recruiter was out of office and handed off candidates poorly, as the recruiter handling my exercise wasn’t familiar with the role’s requirements. Her background in software engineering recruiting led to unclear guidance and confusion around expectations, and she came across as overly informal and disengaged.
It was great and detailed. Until I was ghosted after the final interview.
Strong communication prior and along the way until the final interview. My guess is that due to current high profile company layoffs I was not seen as worth the time.
