In a nutshell, multiple negative experiences with their HR personnel soured my impression of the company.
Their HR representative reached out through LinkedIn regarding the opportunity, but gave no direct contact info (and never did, even when directly asked). HR exhibited exceptionally poor communication skills throughout. Despite their interest, it took over 9 days (and multiple communications and weak apologies from them) to schedule an interview. During the interview, everything went well, and I was told they would be in touch to set up an interview with the immediate supervisor of this position. However, HR did nothing to follow up. On my follow-ups, they provided conflicting information but assured me they were moving forward and continually asked me to be patient. After several weeks and no progress, I moved on.
I'm OK with not getting the job -- especially if their HR department is any indication of how they value their employees -- but it's disrespectful to willfully string people along and hide behind your LinkedIn profile, rather than communicate openly, like a professional.
As an organization, Kimberly-Clark should be concerned about the galling lack of professionalism exhibited by their representatives. I can only assume these behaviors represent the overall culture as a whole. If that is the case, I am GLAD I am not working there.
