First round interview talked about the role, the specific Brand under KC, and the vision within the KC Brand. Second round interview was requested within the hour. Second interview was one person from first interview and a new person. Conversation felt great and flowed through deeper detail as a second interview does. Following the interview I received feedback that I did not know the Brand which was disappointing for a second round interview. I have to believe this feedback was from the new person as the original person and I already had a conversation about KC as a brand itself and that the content I'd be writing for is a new brand--hence why I (honestly) said I wasn't able to do a lot of research.
The disappointment for me was that the 2 interviewers (or 3 total) did not seem to communicate with each other for it to be made clear that I do know the larger Brand but can only have limited sub-brand knowledge. Also disappointing that they would choose to move on from seasoned talent over Brand education; Brand education can be taught (even if I wasn't aware of it), skills need to be found and developed.
