Question 1
If your resume doesn't appeal/pop out to become an accountant they have concerns. Wanted to know why I was interested in the role.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Kimley-Horn in Oct 2023
Interview
Recruiter reached out and requested availability. Scheduled call and had basic screening questions and discussed position and resume. Recruiter mentioned would reach out if the team was interested in next my experience. Never received call back but received rejection email.
Simple interview, first meet with a recruiter and answer generic questions about skills and interests. After that is a 2 hr interview period where the interviewers rotate every 30 mins. Very laid back, simple questions about skills, what you know about the company, and introducing the team to you.
The whole process was very quick. I was called a couple days after applying, and called again a couple days after that to schedule an interview. There were 2 "rounds" with 2 people each. The first round was with the person actually making the hiring decision, and it was the driest interview I've ever had. These people didn't crack a single smile. They asked trick questions (they openly admitted this) and I felt like they were trying to intimidate me the entire time. Any attempt I made to lighten the mood was met with silence and blank faces. The people in the second round were fine, much more relaxed, but I knew it was futile at that point. I'm not sure if I ever had a chance, or if I was just another person to fill their interview quota.
