      Financial Analyst Interview

      Sep 6, 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Rochester, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kodak Alaris (Rochester, NY) in Jan 2014

      Interview

The opening was posted on my college's job portal. Since internship programs were relatively new to the firm, I thought there was lack of formal structure, which was established during my stint. I applied for the position and received a swift response from HR of concerned department. She requested me to wait until the final review of my resume. Once they had reviewed my resume, office representative called me to set up an interview. I was given a date and all the necessary instructions including a brief about my interviewers, whose illustrious profiles scared me at first. On the day of interview, I was escorted to interview room by the office representative who was unbelievably gracious and sweet lady. There were two rounds of interview, One by previously mentioned executives, who I was going to report and then recruiting HR. The leader of the pack, had gone through my resume, word by word and brought with him the printout with visible remarks on the copy. He talked about the company, job and expectations and then asked me questions related to my resume. He was seeking only the honest and straight answers, which I found was the remarkable thing about others present in the room as well. They were not trying to find flaws and reasons to eliminate me but were interested in knowing how much I knew about terms I had mentioned in my resume, which is expected. Everyone took turns to ask questions relevant to the post and my resume and showed enough enthusiasm to judge me on my merits rather than weaknesses. Finance related questions were more or less related with my projects and part time jobs that were relevant to concerned position. This interview was followed by brief HR interview. She judged me on clarity of my purpose, expectations of the job and my willingness to open up about my strengths and weaknesses. She walked me through all the formalities, for if and when I would be offered the position. I received the result in a week when the HR lady called me and presented the offer verbally before sending the offer letter.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Most difficult questions were about accounting, some Excel related terms that I had mentioned in my resume and my knowledge of ERP.
