I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kohl's (New York, NY) in May 2018
Interview
I applied online and got an email invitation to interview a couple of days later. I interviewed the following week. The manager was very friendly and the interview was very conversational and quick. They obviously want to hire good workers, but they also want to know that you're personable.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
When you are given multiple tasks, do you usually start with the easy tasks or difficult tasks first?
I applied online and the next day was asked to schedule a live video interview. I scheduled my interview and joined the call at the scheduled time. The manager was about 20 minutes late and only joined after I called the store to inquire about the status of the interview. He emphasized that he was not looking for a cashier, but a strong salesperson who could confidently sell the store credit card and meet the conversion rates. The manager told me that he had several more interviews to conduct that day, but he liked me and would likely call me soon. He called me back less than 30 minutes after the interview was concluded and offered me the position. I asked if I could take some time to consider the offer and get back to him by the end of business the next day (less than 24 hours). He was hesitant to allow that and instead suggested he call me the next morning. That did not work for my schedule, and he eventually said for me to call him the next day.
