1. Phone interview from HR. The lady was very nice and we had a good conversation.
2. I was told a few days later to proceed to a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager. The interview was not really an interview per se. The manager never asked me to introduce myself. Most of the time it was him trying to introduce the business and team, e.g. company structure, team structure, what they do, what's the % of revenue of each section and why they are hiring etc. He said candidates could get confused of what they do etc., which I was not because I already did research about the company beforehand. I barely got a chance to talk or to relate my experience to the role. After 40min patiently listening to the guy, I asked whether he's got any questions for me. He said no. To me this is really ridiculous and lack of respect and shows the lack of interest in me, which makes me wonder why we were having this meeting from the first place.
3. After meeting with the manager, the HR lady called me to schedule a third interview (video interview) with the manager and two other people in the team. Also, I was told to complete an online Talent Q assessment (numerical, logical, and verbal), plus a behavioural questionnaire. The next day or so, she called me again and told me that the interview had been cancelled and that the team did not want to proceed with me, because they found someone with HR/psychological background (not required on the JD and not seemingly related to the role) and that the manager found gramma errors in my CV. My matching experience and skillsets did not seem to matter. The HR lady was nice enough and offered to improve my CV for me. What has been editted looks slightly better, though it could also be subject to personal preferences. Afterall, I wonder why the manager didn't make the decision before he "interviewed" me and wasted each other's time.
As a company specialising in recruiting and talent management, this seems to be a very odd recruiting process of them.
