I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Korn Ferry (Calgary, AB) in Mar 2022
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me on Linkedin to conduct an intro call to evaluate fit and interest for the Calgary location and a salary discussion took place on the first intro call. The formal interview process started the next week and the full process took 4 weeks. I interviewed two times in their downtown office over two weeks and a virtual interview on the third week and met a total of seven people on the team.
Then there were 2 hours worth of assessments, and they requested five references and none of them were contacted.
When it came time for the offer, I was informed through text message that an offer will come within the week. Then I received a phone call from the senior partner asking me to start work one month ahead of the time I had given my earliest availability during the interviews to better fit their timeline, and shortly after I was told a salary that was $30,000 less than what I was initially informed and that an offer letter will come from head office through DocuSign with no room to negotiate.
When I spoke about the initial salary I would told, the partner quickly switched into sales mode and gave many reasons to pressure me into taking the role despite huge difference in compensation. I was kept on the phone for 45 minutes with reasonings for why I should take the job that would not make up for the $30,000 difference.
