Had a phone interview first scheduled and then a day before the recruiter asked if they could drop it and just meet in-person. Could not make it so they pushed the in-person for the following week. Showed up to the interview on-time. Interviewed with the first director who seemed to go through the notions of a proper interviewer but their demeanor came off as deeply uninterested. (Asking questions for the sake of asking questions.) After approximately 9 minutes, he excused himself to grab the second manager. Within less than 30 seconds, he came back into the room and said that the manager was pulled into another meeting. Mind you, this interview was scheduled a week in advance. "We'll contact you if we're interested." If an employer is not interested in the candidate, tell the staffing agency so they can cancel? No point in wasting both our time? Cancelations happen all the time. It's not a huge deal. First impressions: when you arrive at the corporate office, it'll come off as antiquated. Old furniture and drab lighting especially for a home furnishings and lighting brand? The room I was interviewed in looked like it had not been renovated since the early 90s? But if you don't care for a sleek modern office this is for you. Also noticed when you go to park in front of the corporate building it's all reserved for selected employees (with specific names).
